Fruit Attracion 2024

Fruit Attraction fair has become increasingly significant in the agricultural sector, particularly in the fruit and vegetable industry. This fair is held annually at Ifema (Madrid) and the best word to describe this fair is "spectacular". Although it differs from the fairs we typically attend, being more focused on handling and marketing rather than directly on farming, but we have to admit that it remains highly attractive. This appeal stems not only from the fantastic stands but also from the unique atmosphere that Ifema consistently offers.

Fruit Attraction is undoubtedly a must-visit event, providing a great excuse to spend a few days in Madrid. Each time we visit Ifema, we can't help but imagine how extraordinary an agricultural machinery fair would be at this venue.

The 2024 edition of Fruit Attraction made history, as organizers described it, with three intense days full of innovation and the presence of the sector's leading experts.  It has been an unparalleled opportunity to learn and make valuable connections through networking. 117,370 visitors from 145 countries! Fruit Attraction is therefore consolidating its position as the world epicentre of the fruit and vegetable sector.

In terms of the key figures for this edition, we could highlight:

  • 2,201 exhibitors from 59 countries.
  • 70,254 m² of exhibition space.
  • 10 pavilions occupied by Ifema.
  • 117,370 visitors from 145 countries.
  • 45% international occupancy from 59 countries.
  • 55% national occupancy.
  • 700 major buyers from 70 countries.

The fair is structured into several zones, such as the Fresh Produce area, which represents about 70% of the fair. This year, technology also took centre stage, with Hall 1 dedicated to Innova Tech, which is a new area that brings together the Biotech Attraction and Smart Agro sectors. In term of trendy products, pre-prepared and pre-cooked convenience food formats stood out, a format that companies are using to promote the consumption of fruit and vegetables as ‘ready-to-eat’ products. They also highlighted ecological products, organic offerings, and the latest technological advancements aimed at addressing sustainability, climate change, and the use of new tools such as Artificial Intelligence.

As always, Fruit Attraction continues to inspire and innovate. The next edition will take place from 30th September to 2nd October 2025, and we highly encourage you to attend this extraordinary event.

EIMA 2024

Our friend Timo (from Laihia - Finland) and author of the website konedata.net sends us his comments and photos from last week's visit to the EIMA farm fair in Bologna. A farm fair with an ever increasing number of visitors (record attendance at this edition) and which showcased all the latest machinery and technology from the 1,750 exhibiting companies. Without further ado, here is Timo's summary:

Biggest agricultural machinery exhibition in Europe this fall was EIMA in Bologna, Italy. The uncertain economic situation did not weaken the popularity of the exhibition: there were 346,000 visitors from 150 countries in EIMA.

The Tractor of The Year 2025 awards were awarded in EIMA. The winner of the “top category” Tractor of the Year for high power was the Case IH Quadtrac 715 model, while the Fendt 620 Vario DP won in the medium power range. The Steyr 4120 Plus won the award for best utility tractor in the 70-150 horsepower range. Steyr and its sister models Case IH Farmall C and New Holland T5 DC were the most interesting new tractors at the exhibition. Quite recent new models are also e.g. JD 6M and Fendt e107 Vario.

Also the most significant new combine harvester was a CNH product, New Holland CR 11. In this combine many things have been rethought especially for maximizing the width of the threshing machinery without increasing the transport width.

In addition to the usual tractor brands, many Italian special tractors as well as Asian and Eastern European tractor brands such as Farmtrac, Irum, Basak, Avenger and TYM were presented at EIMA. Arbos has left the market, its models have been added to the Lovol brand range and production moved from Italy to China.

Different irrigation solutions, bush and tree sprayers and deep cultivation tools are presented especially lot at EIMA. Naturally, various precision farming solutions and agricultural robots are also on display. Maschio Gaspardo showed a 10 m power harrow and Alpego a electric rotary harrow. Giant-made Kubota telehandlers will be introduced to many new markets. Italian Aries showed telescopic tractor front loader.

Thank you very much Timo!!
