Gregoire G8.260. It's time for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes

Last week, we were in a vineyard where José Enrique and David Bros. were working with one of their two Gregoire grape harvesters... The Gregoire G8.260. We spoke about grape harvesting tasks three years ago as you can see in this post, but we think that this time the post is more perfect... during the next months we are going to publish a few posts about viticulture jobs... We are sure, you will find them really interesting!

As you can see in our pictures and the published video, there were important hills in the vineyard, so the grape harvester had serious problems on the heads... José Enrique told us when he worked with it (they aren't usted to this type of fields because La Mancha is almost flat). Usually, the working speed is about 3.5km/h but on this occasion, it can get at 5km/h due to so slope. The G8.260 can grape harvest almost one hectare per hour (it has two hopper at 3.000 liters what is a big limitation because they have to empty them frequently) when it works in Cuenca or Albacete areas.

We liked the done work so much and the comfort of the center driver seat on the grape harvester (we think the G-VISIOcenter system is an importan advantage over competition like Pellenc or New Holland). The G-VIEWmaster and the G-CONTROLmaster terminal show all configuration parameters of the machinery easily and intuitive because it uses a big color touch screen. The new G-MULTIdrive system allows drivers to operate the main functions with  your hands on the joystick, starting conveyors, picking head, emptying bins,...

As you can see in some pictures, the grapes were perfectly harvested when the machinery processes them. The emptying bins tasks are absolutely simple thanks to large height of this grape harvester, it allows driver to empty grapes on big trailers or trucks.
