Sold tractors in Spain during 2012

We would like to continue to talk about agricultural machinery sales (tractors especially) in Spain during 2012, which was told by us in our last post in our blog. In the next paragraphs, we try to break down some numbers which are really interesting:

• Total sold tractors in 2012: 8,655 units
• Local manufactured tractors: 71 units
• No local manufactured tractors: 8,584 units
• 2WD wheel tractors: 119 units (Avg. power of 92.5 HP)
• 4WD wheel tractors: 8,427 units (Avg. power of 113.4 HP)
• Crawlers and other: 109 units (Avg. power of 100.2 HP)

The 8,655 units of sold tractors had a value, without taxes, of 388.9€ million. So that, the average price of a tractor is of 45,000€.
The average power of sold tractors was approximately 113HP. It is a significant number because the average power of Spanish tractors (we have 1,065,508 active tractors) is about 65HP, so the cost in 2012 of one HP is of 400€/HP.

Power Sales by segments

We think it is interesting the large percentage of market share of narrow tractors, which is almost 30% of all units.

About power, the most sold segments was between 95 and 125 HP (about 2,500 units):

• Tractors < 40 HP: 544 units.
• Tractors 41 – 70 HP: 665 units.
• Tractors 70 – 95 HP: 2,064 units.
• Tractors 95 – 125 HP: 2,486 units.
• Tractors 125 – 150 HP: 1,181 units.
• Tractors > 150 HP: 1,715 units.

Over 44 tractors brands was sold in the last year in Spain and there is a offer over 1,000 models. They are the brands with the largest market share:

Sales of second hand sold tractors

The number of second had sold tractors is over 23,000 units, so it represents almost three times the new sold units!

Sales of sold combines

They were sold 380 units. The distribution of brands is shown below:

• New Holland: 125 units.
• Claas: 116 units.
• John Deere: 99 units.
• Fendt: 19 units.
• Deutz-Fahr: 15 units.
• Case IH: 5 units.
• Laverda: 1 unit.

 

Saler of Vineyard Harvesters

They were sold 69 units. This market is dominated by New Holland and Gregoire.
